The keep on the mountain.

Here are some pics of the keep Im working on on the mountain. Its almost completed, and will prob go threw some changes. It doesnt really serve any specific purpose beyond looking cool.

Additions and suicidal chickens.

I started adding onto my original structure. I've built another bridge connecting that large side tower to the land and making it appear more stable. I'm mapping out where the next large room will be and while i was doing that I noticed one of the chickens i had coped up there had escaped and was standing on the edge of the stones ... just hanging out. She layed an egg then wandered around a bit before finally falling.

Chicken Killing factory.

The title is a bit grim, but this is essentially what I've built. I'm housing chickens in the sealed pen above two trap doors which are released by the first lever. They fall into a narrow hole where, when i pull the other two levers, sticky pistons crush them with stone blocks. The resulting chicken and feathers float out via the water; yum!

Adventure Chicken Island!

I sectioned off the adjacent lake and created a giant chicken pen which I'm calling "Adventure Chicken Island" It has all the amenities a chicken would want. I also built a silo to store things like wheat and seeds.

Into the abandoned mines.

I discovered an abandoned mine deep below my underground rail system. Its twists and turns and is rich in iron and gold deposits. It's also a very treacherous area to explore. If you look very closely at the first pic you can see a zombie turning from profile to front on. The third picture is of the ceiling. Notice the red eyes?

Construction scouting.

I completed the rail tunnel to my future construction site. I pin pointed it perfectly and dug straight up almost directly behind the two mountains which overlook my farming village. My goal is to build something impressive on this particular stretch of land that visually adds to it without being gaudy. I may have to resort to pencil and paper for this one.

Devastation on the farm.

As seems to be typical, I exited my mine during the evening and was quickly inundated with enemies. I got into my house, but was surrounded by an assortment of badies, including three creepers. Unable to sleep, I waiting out the night until the warm morning sun burned the undead assailants. However, the creepers and spiders remained. When I exited my house I was assaulted by them resulting in some serious damage to my house and some causalities to my chicken stock. After the smoke and feathers cleared I had to quickly repair the damage before more chickens were able to escape.

Into the mines.

I built a rail system which links my farming area with my main tower. I expanded from my original tower into a new "train station" which will act as the main hub for most of my rail systems. As this was my first venture into this type of a project, I kept it simple. I dug a straight 3x3 tunnel from point A to B. On a few occasions it intersected with a mine of chasm which I will later further explore. I then placed all the rail and the "booster" gold tiles and now have a quick and convenient way to get from point A to B.

Scenes from the farm.

Having built an underground rail system from my original tower to my farm I can now access it quickly. I expanded the pig, chicken pens and built a second one, as well as built new ones. I also started up another inclosed wheat field. My future expansion plans including building a new tower on that distant mountain range you can see across the lake.

After one evening of torrential rain I discovered a creeper had gotten stuck in my pig pen. I let him be, as an explosion in the vicinity of that many pigs could have been catastrophic. Eventually he despawned of wandered away.

The chickens are revolting!
