Fortune FTW!

I've built two new towers in my style on a new survival server. Having discovered the wonder that is "silk touch and fortune" it is a lot easier to mine for my particular favorite materials: stone brick and nether brick. The second tower is going to be big, at least on the scale as my original large tower.

Quick Update.

I haven't posted in awhile, but I have been building. here are a few random shots from various projects I worked on. Most have expired due to a server reset or expiry.

Here's what I'm currently working on. A giant castle in the jungle. It's big...very very big. I've been working on it for about a month now.

More buildings into the void.

The server I'm on is wiping ... again. So, all my buildings are about to enter the void. At least this time I got some warning. I was quite happy with the way the floating biosphere turned out. I also made a circular stone dome, and a mushroom house for my sheep farm.

Building a better biosphere

My next big project has been a floating biosphere with glass dome. I put a lot of emphasis on creating an interesting lower portion, as that's what you primarily see from the ground. The use of template circles has been very enlightening and will def appear in any future project.

The lost castle.

The server I was building on reset rather abruptly so I didnt get a chance to take a lot of screen shots of one of the mega projects I was working on. I do have these few, which show it. One of the big things I have since adapted is more solid surfaces.

random building and the ruins project.

In addition to working on one of my larger projects I've also joined another server where, rather than concentrate on one large cumbersome building, I'm going to dot the landscape with many small little buildings, and the remains of buildings, ie ruins. It's quite fun traveling about and finding a spot and creating the remains of an ancient building, then departing.

server jumping

I'll been bouncing around servers. After update 1.2.4 came out I wasnt able to get back on too the main server I was playing onto, so I jumped onto a random new one. The thing is, once you set roots, its hard to go back. Here are some shots from some random projects on different servers. A robot in the jungle, my desert tower and my gothic church.

1.2 = default

I've been playing around in the newly updated world of 1.2. The biggest change was I went back to the original default texture pack, as some of the new blocks dont appear in my modified one. What really has surprised me is how much I have grown accustomed too it, and even find that I prefer it. I've been trying some different building ideas and materials and have found a few that I really like. The next step is to go beyond my typical structures and try something new.

The mighty "it"

I'm pretty much done construction on the large caste?...tower? thing I've been building. It doesnt really serve any specific function, and as I continue to look at it, I feel the need to build an even larger "it" behind it ..but that may or may not happen. I do like the look of what appears to be a floating castle on top of what looks like a giant cauldren. Someone on the server discribed it best, saying it looked like a giant lazer cat with a top hat.

The land of many

I'm backlogged with screen shots, but I wanted to update quickly with what I'm working on. I'm trying something different. I jumped onto a multiplayer server, to see what that experience is like. Thus far it's very enjoyable. Having played in my own little world for a good two months, I was able to adapt quickly and have established a nice little home base. I'm going to stay putt where I am and build a giant fortress. here's a few quick shots.

The summer home.

Here are a few shots of my new beach summer home. I've built it primarly out of wood. I modified the stone brick blocks and created a simple one colour green block which I'm using as a copper style roof and for my small creeper island statue, which I hope, will ward of evil spirits.
